Getting Started

What is Innate Fitness?

Innate Fitness is a lifestyle based fitness and health gym in Santa Barbara. Our program is focused on getting you the best results possible. Here’s how we do it:

Functional Movement-

Learn to move as you were designed to. Functional movements require multiple muscle groups, multiple joints and a high degree of core activation.
Functional movements create a powerful hormonal response that will help you increase your metabolism, burn more calories, build attractive muscle and get better results.

Comprehensive Health Education-

Learn how to Eat, Move, Think and Care for your physical body as nature intended.

Build community around self-improvement and healthy choices-

We encourage all of our members to lead by example, cheer each other on, and inspire others to take action.

Is Innate Fitness right for me?

Innate Fitness is the right gym and community for you if…

  • You are ready to create your own reality.
  • You are ready to invest time, energy, money and most importantly- yourself in the process of change.
  • You are ready to honestly look at your nutrition and make some positive changes (everyone has room for improvement).
  • You are able to attend at least 3 workouts per week.
  • You are ready to pay your body and mind the respect they deserve.
  • You are ready to put forth the effort and grow to get the results you want.
  • You are ready to work out in a supportive group atmosphere where the only person you compete against is yourself (and your friends if you want!).
  • You are ready to listen to your coaches to help you get what you want.

What are the workouts like?

Innate Fitness workouts follow the CrossFit model. Our aim is to help you get the best results possible. Working out at Innate will increase your physical capacity in all areas. To prevent your body from plateauing we constantly vary the workouts to create different stimuli on a daily basis. Intervals, strength training, gymnastic body weight calisthenics and more are all part of the program. Routine is the enemy of results!

Classes are taught in a group setting and we also have small group workouts available.

At Innate Body Bootcamp you will work hard, sweat, cheer, and get amazing results side by side with great friends.

What if I’m worried that I won’t be able to keep up?

Don’t worry! Innate Fitness is the place for you, whether you’re already a well conditioned athlete or making the transition from couch to a more active lifestyle. The only person you are competing against is yourself. You will be cheered, encouraged, and pushed no matter where you’re at. Modifications are available for any fitness level, no matter where you are at.

Can I try it out? How do I get started?

Because Innate Fitness is a functional program, we put all of our new clients through a 3 week class On Ramp course that includes:

  • Basic functional movements and their modifications
  • Principles of healthy movement
  • Paleo nutrition
  • Goal setting
  • Journaling
  • Proper scaling
  • A taste of the positive and encouraging culture.

On Ramps are held twice each month and have a limited number of spaces!

Can I try a workout before signing up for On Ramp?
